YES on Proposition 81
Library funding.
YES on Proposition 82
Preschool for all.
Decades of research proves that children who attend quality preschool read earlier and learn faster. But only 20% of our children actually go to quality preschools.
Prop 82 gives every four-year- old in California the opportunity to attend a free, high-quality preschool. It provides trained, credentialed teachers in every classroom, more parental involvement, and strict accountability and enforcement to ensure that every dollar is dedicated to preschool.
Prop 82 will help more children read and learn, which will strengthen our schools and improve education for all our kids.
Backed by:
California Teachers Association, California Head Start Association,
California Police Chiefs Association, Los Angeles and San Francisco Chambers
of Commerce, National Council of La Raza, National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People, and the American Academy of Pediatrics
Opposed by:
Arnold's special election funders like the California Chamber of Commerce;
anti-tax advocates like the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association; and some
private preschool owners.
